Parent Reminder:
As of late, I have noticed several parents in the building at the end of the day. This is a friendly reminder that, for security reasons, the front door is locked at the end of the day. If parents have a meeting scheduled with a teacher after school hours, they should buzz into the office and Mrs. Akkala will open the door. If parents do not have a scheduled meeting, they should wait for their child outside.
The reason for this is to keep our kids as safe as possible. Any visitor in the building, while students are present, must sign-in in the office.
This procedure will also help with the congestion in the hallways while students are getting ready to go home. This is the expected procedure of the Neenah Joint School District. It is important that we work together to make sure that our children are kept as safe as possible.
This is procedure is also the expectation for morning drop off. Students should enter the building with their classmates when the bell rings. If your child is arriving late, he or she must stop in the office and check in with Mrs. Akkala.
Thank you, in advance, for your help and understanding. I appreciate your continued support.

What if my child has an appointment during the school day?
If your child needs to leave during the school day for an appointment, an adult must come in the building to sign-out the child. When the parent arrives at school, the child will be called down to the office. If the child returns to school following the appointment, an adult must accompany the child into the school and stop in the office. The child will need a pass to go back to class. This lets the teacher know that the child has stopped in the office. The parent also must sign-in the child in the binder in the office. Thank you for your help with this procedure.

Are you going on vacation?
If your family is going on vacation and your child is going to be missing one or more days of school, please make sure you let Mrs. Akkala know. You can either call 751-6970 ext. 18100 or you can email her at [email protected]. It is important that the office is aware of your child's absence. This will avoid an unnecessary phone call being
made to the parent.

Winter is here!
Please remember that students do go outside for recess everyday and in order to play in the snow students need to have boots and snow pants. It is also preferred that students take their boots and snow pants home at the end of the day. If you would rather your child put their gear in a bag instead of putting it all on at the end of the day, please consider sending in a reusable grocery bag or something similar that the gear can be carried in. It isn't ideal to have students trying to put boots and wet snow pants in backpacks. Thank you for your help!!

Roosevelt Families - United Community Update:
Roosevelt parents have raised $412.73 over the past year just by using their credit or debit card at participating businesses which participate in the United Community Program. Helping out is easy! Follow the link to register your card - that's it! Many parents who have previously signed up haven't had any activity on their cards for 6 months or more. If your monthly statements indicate that you haven't raised any funds recently, you might have had a glitch in your registration. Checking on this would be an easy way to continue to help the Roosevelt PTO continue to raise funds without any additional work needed from you.
