Building Security:
Due to security concerns, the front door will remained locked at the end of the day. If parents have a meeting scheduled with a teacher after school hours, they should buzz into the office and Mrs. Akkala will open the door. If parents do not have a scheduled meeting, they should wait for their child outside.
The reason for this is to keep our kids as safe as possible. When the door is open, anyone is able to enter the building while students are still on site. It can create an unsafe situation. This new procedure will also help with the congestion in the hallways while students are getting ready to go home. This procedure will make our building's procedures consistent with the other elementary buildings in the district.
Thank you, in advance, for your help and understanding. I appreciate your continued support.

Way to go Owen!!!!
Owen Wheeler, a 5th grader in Mrs. Wunrow-Lemke's classroom, celebrated his birthday this summer. As part of Owen's invitation for his party, he suggested that instead of his friends bringing him a gift, he asked them to bring a donation for the art classroom at our school. Owen raised $105.00 for our art room!! Mrs. Ehnerd, the art teacher, will work with Owen to purchase some great things! Thank you Owen for your generosity and kindness!!

Attend the cooking demonstration at 10:00 and plan a healthy meal that you can prepare together from the shopping to the table.
