A Chat with Mrs. Chrisman...
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is ready for December!! We have a fun week planned ahead for us! The Roosevelt students have their holiday concert on Thursday evening. I'm sure this will get us in the holiday spirit. This week our students will be delivering our annual poinsettias to the houses in our school neighborhood. I can't wait to be part of this fun tradition. Please remember that our Giving Tree is up and ready for donations. If your family is interested in donating to St. Joe's Pantry in Menasha, please have your child choose an ornament off of the tree. All donations can be brought back to the boxes in the main hallway. On a personal note, my family has officially moved to Neenah! We are so excited to be part of the community. The short commute is SO nice!! Thank you to everyone for your support during this move for our family!

The students of Roosevelt and Alliance are learning more about the virtue of SERVICE this month. We will be exploring the many ways that people of our community can be of service to others. Each week students will be hearing announcements of 2 or 3 ways they can be of service in their community and school. This week we are learning about how we can share our musical talents with others, and how we can thank the military service members during the holiday season (cards are due to Mrs. Cercone by Dec. 5th). When students' classes participate in a service activity they will add a paper ornament to one of our holiday trees at the school. If your family participates in a service activity we would like you to decorate a paper ornament as well. You will find a copy of ornaments attached to this newsletter or your child can find one in the envelope attached to Mrs. Cercone and Markman's classroom door. Please write your name and the activity you did on the ornament, decorate it, cut it out, and place it in the basket in the office. The cold weather is here! Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the cold temperatures. If your family is in need of assistance, please contact Mrs. Chrisman.

Mrs. Ruthven's 3rd graders SKYPE
students at Tullar Elementary This week there was a Skype conference between Mrs. Ruthven's third grade class at Roosevelt and Mrs. Schumacher's third grade class at Tullar. Students have been paired up with a buddy from the other class, and they have been blogging about the books Sarah, Plain and Tall, and Skylark. Students couldn't wait to meet each other "in person," so Mrs. McMahon, LMS for both buildings set up this Skype meeting. Students loved getting to put a face to a name and asking their buddy some questions! SHAKE IT OFF..........
