A Chat with Mrs. Chrisman...
I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you how grateful I am to be part of the Roosevelt/Alliance family. I am so appreciative of the staff at our school for welcoming me aboard. They have been wonderful during the transition from Mr. Johnson's leadership to mine. I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank the parents for their support. I hope that you all realize and can understand that I am not Mr. Johnson and I am going to do some things differently. That doesn't make what I'm doing wrong, it just makes it different. My number one priority is the students. It is my goal to get to know the students, create relationships with the students, and make sure that their needs are being met. I have enjoyed spending time in the classrooms and in the lunchroom. I also love being in the hallways before and after school. This is a great opportunity for me to give high fives, say good morning, tell the kids I'll see them tomorrow, let them know they are doing a great job, etc. I love to see their smiles! I have been working hard at getting to know the students' names. After being in school a little over month, I know more than half of the students by name. I'm proud of the relationships I've created in such a short period of time. Please know that I realize I will make mistakes, but I will learn from my mistakes as well. Everyday I reflect on how my day went. I continue to be amazed at what I learn each and every day!! This adventure is certainly an exciting one! Thank you for your continued support! Have a great weekend!

The holidays are right around the corner. This is an exciting time of year, yet for many families it is a time of added anxiety and stress. Many families find themselves financially challenged. They worry about how they will be able to financially deal with the holidays. If you know of a family in need, (it may even be your own), please contact Mrs. Wunderlich (Roosevelt) or Mrs. Marzahl (Alliance) to obtain the necessary forms to participate in the Boy’s & Girl’s Brigade 2014 Christmas Giving Program. All completed forms are due no later than Friday, November 21st. Mrs. Wunderlich can be reached at 751-6970 ext. 654 or at [email protected]. Mrs. Marzahl can be reached at 751-6970 ext. 603 or at [email protected]. SCHOOL ATTENDANCE
School attendance is an important factor in school success that is monitored at many levels: school, district and state. It is our district’s policy that mandatory notifications be sent to families concerning attendance when a significant number of absences/tardies accumulate in a particular period of time or a pattern of absences is established (e.g., 5/6 days absent in one quarter or two months). If a student accumulates more than 10 absences in a school year (for any reason), the school and district may require a medical excuse for all future absences otherwise all absences will be considered unexcused resulting in truancy. It is always a good idea to bring in a doctor’s note if your child is seen by a physician for any reason. |
